A CUP OF COLD WATER
In the tenth chapter of the book
of Matthew *, we are told that if
we even give "even a cup of cold
water" to a little child, we shall surely
be rewarded.
As the temperature has heated up this
summer, we have diligently search
through the refrigerator for various
thirst quenching beverages to satisfy
our thirst.
And, while we shall surely drink our fill
of cold milk, fruit juices, or soft drinks
this summer, still after all our taste tasting,
we find a cup of cold water refreshes us
best.
An unknown writer has penned these words...
"Just a cup of cold water was given in his name
But, the soul of the giver was never the same
For he found that when giving was done with a zest
Both the heart of the giver and taker were blest."
In the heat of the day, or on the morrow, to whom
shall we give a cup of cold water that they, and we,
may be blest.
