A PORTION OF OURSELVES
In writing about giving, Ralph Waldo Emerson
wrote...
"The poet brings his poem
The shepherd, his lamb
The farmer, corn
The miner, a gem
The sailor, coral and shell
The painter, his picture
The girl, a handkerchief
of her own sewing"
We find it amazing that so many
of us often attempt to offer God
and man some other person's
talent.
At times, we try so hard, too hard,
to change our personality while trying
to be someone else other than ourselves,
which turns out to be incompatible to
God's plan for our lives.
If and when God calls upon us to use
our or services, let us just give, as best
we can, a portion of ourselves.
