ADVERSITY
With my recent falls, I became acquainted with adversity.
Not that I wanted to. It wasn't on my wish list.
From birth to my mid-seventies, I managed to avoid
painful physical adversity.
I was beginning to believe I would live to the age of
at least 120 without any problems. My recent falls have
given me pause (you can say that again, brother.
After six weeks of agitation, I am just now beginning
to get along in a normal fashion.)
I now have deep empathy for those of you that carry
on the best you can. I've known for many years that
most of you carry heavy burdens and that your life
is oft times very difficult. I have gotten to the point
in my life that I have sympathy and empathy for all.
