AMERICA
Former Black Panther leader, Eldridge Cleaver
once stated:
"I'd rather be in jail in America than free
anywhere else."
While this may not be a favorable recommendation
regarding our nation's penal institutions, It does
have some definite positive connotations respecting
the goodness of our homeland.
America...A land in which freedom of religion is
paramount. A land where governments may be
criticized without fear of imprisonment.* A land
in which many persons, regardless of rank or wealth,
may hold property and own a business of their own.
A land wherein the individual, and not the state, is
faults, continues to be the brightest of beacons
among the encircling gloom.
(*This freedom has been seriously challenged and
and undermined in the last few years.)
