AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION
A few years ago, I saw a cartoon
in which a senior executive was giving
his junior aide the following sagacious
advice:
"Remember, 28.349 grams of prevention
are worth .453 kilograms of cure."
The experts and history continue to tell
us that most fires and auto accidents are
caused by carelessness.
If, beforehand, we would determine to
drive safely and defensively, we probably
would never have an auto accident.
And, if we would prepare our campfires
judiciously, and made sure every ember
was extinguished before leaving for home,
many acres of timber could be saved.
And, perhaps through prayerful planning
and conscientious preperation, we might
minimize our misfortunes and maximize our
opportunities.
For after all, 28.349 grams...well, you get
the idea.
