                                                          MEMORIAL DAY (2022)

These are perilous times. Terrorism and
death are on the march. Worldwide evil
has once again raised its ugly head.
Our civilization has not yet reached the
horrible circumstances of World War I
or World War II, or the Viet War era.
But, incidents of terrorism continue to
increase. Most of this terrorism is caused
by Islamic Extremists or Islamic Extremist
                                     wannabes and misguided Americans.
Our civilization still has not sought the better path.
Many seek world peace, but it is hard to find.
When, oh when, shall we take up the plowshares?

ALLELUIA BE OUR SONG 649

                                                              ALLELUIA BE OUR SONG

No matter how far I may travel
Over land or sea or air
There is no distance can separate me
                                                          From God's eternal loving care.

If I were thrown for a loss
Every day for the rest of my life
Thy solace and peace I gladly confess
Would give succor for the struggle and strife.

O faint heart be thou not weary
Of the cross you're requested to bear
Just remember the life of the master
And the cross he was willing to share.

Let no sad songs come from our lips
No dirges be sing to the throng
But glory be to the Lord of our life
And alleluia, alleluia, be our song.

                                                 COMMENCEMENT

For those of you who are about

to graduate we would ask you to...

                                        Learn from the mistakes and
                                        successes of others.
                                        Build upon that which history
has shown to be good, honest
                                        and true.
Be not afraid of the future,

                                        press on, press on.
                                        Seek vocations that would
                                        enrich and uplift your fellowman.
                                        Defend our freedoms,
                                        Decry
bondage of any kind.
Learn to feed men's minds and
hearts as well as their stomachs.
                                        Set high standards and gracious
                                        examples for others to follow.
And remember, every day of our
lives is a day of commencement.

SCHOOL'S OUT

                                            SCHOOL'S OUT

Another school year is about to end.
Vacation, for many, is about to begin.

It has often been said, with much
veracity, that the teacher learns more
                                than the student.

As a perennial student in the school
of hard knocks, we have learned
                                much this past school year.

                                For instance, we have learned...

It's difficult to have fun all the time.
Work is a necessity of life.
We do not have to solve all the
                                world's problems.
If we don't bother other people,
                                they will seldom bother us.
Most of last year's problems have
                                been solved or forgotten.
                                Comfort and consolation may be
                                found in reading the Scriptures.
God lets us be who we are until
we are ready to change for the
                                better.
That we should seek to enjoy
this life, for it is the only life we
                                have, right now.

                                                          RETURN AGAIN MY RIGHTEOUSNESS

                                                    O to Eden I would
                                                    Once again return
To the age of my youth
                                                    Wilt thou grant this desire
                                                    Of my heart, O Lord

                                                    Harken unto me
                                                    My little one
                                                    You have left the garden
                                                    For good
And it is gone from thy sight
                                                    Forever

                                                    But, do not sorrow
                                                    Nor wallow in sin
                                                    Yea, rather, Rejoice, Rejoice
                                                    For the kingdom of God
                                                    Is within you

                                                    The garden
                                                    Was but a way station
                                                    For your eternal home
                                                    Has always been my home
                                                    I have prepared
                                                    A place for you

                                                    Return again my righteousness
                                                    Return again my little one
                                                    Return again unto me

LOVE THEIR MOTHER

                                                            LOVE THEIR MOTHER

A very wise son or daughter penned
                                                  these words..."The most important thing
a father can do for his children is to
                                                  love their mother." (Author unknown)

We know of no finer, easier, surefire way
of avoiding divorce, and keeping many
                                                  children's hearts from breaking than
                                                  tending to the above admonition.

Loving your your wife means putting up
with all her idiosyncrasies for the rest of
her life. (After all she has had to put up
with all your peculiarities indefinitely, too).

Loving your wife should be your most important
pastime. And that love and the enjoyment of
that love should increase with maturity and age.

Your children should sense and observe your love
                                                 for their mother.

For the sake of your marriage and your children...
                                                 Love their mother!

LIGHTNING STREAKED ACROSS THE SKY

                                                         LIGHTNING STREAKED ACROSS THE SKY

                                                          Lightning streaked across the sky
The thunder thundered, we wondered why
The sky turned pale gray as tree branches
                                                           Began to sway
The storm came on so suddenly,
We knew not what to say
The lights went out all over town
As hearts at home began to pound

The lights would come on again
They always have, they always will
If only we would be patient and serene
We could see a more peaceful scene

The time passes so slowly in our war torn land
Swords have not yet been turned into plowshares

SILENCE, SILENCE

                                                            SILENCE, SILENCE

                                               Silence, silence
                                               It is that quiet quietness
                                               That speaks to us alone
                                               And his voice is sweet
                                               And his voice is consoling
                                               And his voice is calming
                                               And his voice is commanding
And his voice may be heard
In the passing of the wind
As he speaks to each of us
Come unto me, and I will give you rest
