I SMELL SMOKE!

                                                                           I SMELL SMOKE!

Is it just my imagination, or am I actually
beginning to smell a few, putrid odors
coming up from the political, cultural, religious
depths of depravity leading to America's demise
before permanently settling into the abyss?

I (barely) hold out hope that those knowledgeable
and informed countrymen of mine may continue to
rise up and in any election defeat any candidate who
will not support the U.S. Constitution and its Amendments
containing the Bill of Rights and the liberties which
                                they guarantee.

"... Lo! Freedom weeps. Wrong rules the land.
                                And, waiting justice sleeps."

AT THE ALTAR

                                      AT THE ALTAR

Have you got burdens that bother
Have you got troubles and woe
Give them to your Master and Savior
Just drop them at the altar and go

With a heart that's filled with mercy
                         Jesus is looking for you
He knows all your faults and follies
So there's only one thing to do.

Drop your sins at the altar
Your years of battle and strife
Come, take the hand of your Master
Let Jesus be Lord of your life.

FALL GUY

                                                                                    FALL GUY

Once again, it is that season of the year
which we enjoy bragging about so much
if we had a great deal to do with bringing
                                 it about).

                                 Autumn has arrived once again...
With flamboyant flare the eastern skies
are aflame with splashes of tangerine and gold.
Here are plucky pecans and orange plastered
plump pumpkins, hot apple pie alamode.
Brisk, invigorating walks down tawny leaved
                                 lanes. Yesterday remembered winding down

                                 golden green roads.

Each year we bask in the beauty of this wonderous
season. With deep breaths we inhale the expectant
exhilarating air as the passage of each day pushes
us closer toward Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Street lights, porch lights, parlor lights take on a
warm after glow and homes once again become
                                 our safe harbor.

To all of you who would join with us in celebrating
this glorious season...We salute you...as one fall
                                  guy to another.

WONDERFUL ME

                                               WONDERFUL ME

                                         Wrote S. Lee Luchansky...

"Humility is the ability to act
                                         embarrassed when you tell people
                                         how wonderful you are."

                                         Seriously though, there is something
to be said for humility...and honest
                                         embarrassment...and being truly wonderful.

Even in this technological, overly sophisticated
age of ours, we still admire the humble man
                                         or woman.

And, perhaps the mark of a
real man or lady is their ability
                                         to blush in compromising situations.

One of the better character traits
of my father was his ability to be humble
                                         when others were complimenting him.

We also suspect that those fortunate
inhabitants of the Kingdom of God will
have to readily admit that they arrived
at their heavenly station because, in this
life, they were surrounded...by humble souls.

CONTENTMENT

                                                                    CONTENTMENT

Many have searched all their lives
                                  for that contentment that leads
                                  to peace of mind.

Perhaps contentment comes from giving up
those things we cannot keep...while keeping
those things that money cannot buy.

It was said that "A tub was large enough
for Diogenes, but a world was too little for
                                  Alexander."

As of late, we have become aware of the
                                  pricelessness...
                                  Of a silent starry sky.
                                  Of the dawn's early blush.
                                  Of children laughing innocently.
Of the burden lifting power of prayer.

Only as we learn to be content...shall
we be able to widen the channels of
                                  our creativity.

TICK-TOCK 232

                                       TICK-TOCK 232

"It is possible to own too much,"
                             suggested Gene Brown, "A man
with one watch knows what time
it is; a man with two watches
                             is never sure."

This is similar to the statement
                             by the Apostle James (1:8)...
"A double minded man is unstable
                             in all his ways."

It is perhaps difficult for many of us
to consistently remain stable in our
                             everyday, often-changing, challenging
                             and oft-times threatening world.

Perhaps one reason for our continued
inconsistencies in moral and spiritual living
is that...we fail to recognize that while all
of our parts are important ones, we could
                             not run
for a second if our Creator failed
                             or
refused to set our mainspring and minor
                             wheels in motion.

As in some watches, as also in most men,
it is very difficult for us to be ticking while
                             we're tocking.

To be in harmony with the Harmonizer of
the Universe, we would suggest we need...
a steady hum...which only He can give us.

                             tic-toc craze. 4.17.2020)

                                   With freedom and liberty
                                   Long may you stand

                                   You bring forth abundance
                                   And a brand new life
Time will pass, time will tell
