HALLOWEEN (2015) Have yourselves an orangey Halloween Add another pumpkin to your eatery Lift your voices in glad adoration to God Lighten the burdens of a downtrodden sod O let no negatives spook your well being Weather the storms of life, go on through Effusively live every day of your short life Encourage others to travel the better path Ne'er disparage, rather, have faith and hope Selah (Written October 3, 2015) LIFE AFTER BIRTH We recently received a new book by Dr. Raymond A. Moody, Jr. entitled, "Life After Life." In his book, Dr. Moody examines the testimonials experience of those who were pronounced "clinically dead" and who were later revived. While we find this subject highly interesting and informative, we are giving serious consideration to writing a much more pertinent and provocative publication entitled...Life After Birth. We believe all facets of this life after birth should be discussed, but being religiously inclined, we would devote a large portion of the book to life after birth "In the Church." For while all the evidence is not yet in, we highly suspect that more spiritual deaths occur within the church, than any other place on earth. Interesting questions: Are we spiritually dead? Or alive? Or are we trying to decide which way to go? We were not born to exist, but...to come alive! (Written in 1977) PSALM 84:1,2,4,10,11,12 How amiable are thy tabernacles O Lord of hosts My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God Blessed are they that dwell in thy house They will be still praising thee. But, for us, there is one sight even more beautiful to watch and that is...Heather (age 3) on the frost. And not only Heather, but also Tammy, Billy and Matthew. Leaping skipping, rollicking, frolicking... We watch them with awe...to think that we have entertained angels unaware...For such is the kingdom of God. (Written in 1977) WASHINGTON AND LINCOLN We have always enjoyed the month of February, not only because of Valentine's day, but also because we celebrate the birthdays of two of our greatest Presidents. We believe that one of their greatest traits of nobleness was their ability to continue a course of rightness to its final conclusion regardless of the number of those who deserted them along the way. Both had a vision of "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." May we continue to promote and maintain the freedoms which Washington and Lincoln preserved.
