Well, they finally came back...
We're talking about those wonderful
elementary school portraits that millions
of parents are induced to buy each year.
In addition to all four kids, old Mom and
Dad optimistically had their pictures
taken also.
As with most things in life, some photos
turned out great, while others probably
should have been left in the darkroom.
For instance, Tammy's and Heather's
pictures turned out just beautifully. And,
Billy's will always be cherished for it
clearly shows the spaces where baby teeth
had once resided. And Matt's pix portray the
wind blown boldness of a five year-old.
Mommy asked us to be kind when we wrote
about her picture, so the best we can do
in that case, is to go on to a brief description
of our own photograph.
We had our picture taken while wearing a
bright red tie and bright green coat. When
the pictures came back, our coat had turned to
a dingy gray. And, what with our 5 o'clock
shadow showing, our whole face just sort of
slid down into our coat. The best thing
about the picture was the blue background.
Hopefully, when the picture of our inner man
is exposed, the finest features shall be found
in the man...not in the background.
