THE MILLER 181
In the 1800's, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
translated the following epigram written
by the 17th century poet, Friedrich von Logau...
"Though the mills of God grind slowly,
yet they grind exceeding small;
"Though with patience he stands waiting,
with exactness grinds he all."
The Miller of our souls seeks grain that's
free from chaff and tares. He desires us
become living loaves free from all impurities,
filled with a savor, sweet smelling and divine
Thy grinding, Oh Lord, pinches so
But we rejoice, knowing your love shall flow
Keep on grinding 'till we're soft and fine
That you may one day say
This grain is mine
This grain is mine
