HIGH, WIDE AND HANDSOME
Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick once wrote
a letter to the author-philosopher, Wilfred
A. Peterson, in which he said...
"I am in my ninety-first year and am
crippled by arthritis, my handwriting shows
that, but in my spirit...I am high, wide and
handsome."
High...As our days go by Lord, let us
realize that God has given each of us
a high and holy calling.
Wide...May our arms become like unto
Thine, O Lord, wide open, willing to embrace,
with love , those who disagree with us as well
as those who love us.
Handsome...And may our minds and hearts
become so daily attuned to Thy Spirit that
our outward countenance may become
spiritually and holy handsome.
May we glow as we grow.
