Early morning. I arose with the primary intention
of writing an article or two prior to leaving the house
as soon as possible.
As I entered the living room to say good morning
to my children who were already up, I spyed Matthew
(now 8 years old) playing with some of the chess pieces
from, the game he'd acquired the night before. He was
playing alone because none of the other kids wanted to play
him at the time.
At first, I was going to ignore him. After all,
I had a more important task, that of getting some articles
written.
But, the inner voice prevailed, and Matt and I wound
up playing an enjoyable game of chess in my study.
It felt good to take time to play with one of my
children.
(P.S....The little snip beat me.)
