INDIAN SUMMER
The moon appears five feet wider
The aroma of dry burning leaves
releases memories of our yesteryears
The multicolored trees and shrubs
line our streets and highways
The vibrancy of the evening breezes
send an air of expectancy coursing
through our veins and sinews
We sense and see that change is
taking place everywhere in nature
And if in nature, why not us
Time to throw away our old leaves
in preparation for the new
as the winter winds begin to blow
