Sometimes, things just don't work out
the way you would like them to, and
at those times, all you can do is carry
on in some form or fashion, and let
the memories linger.
Some fourteen years ago, our daughter,
Heather, brought two floppy eared
brown, white and black spotted beagles
to live in our home. Their given names
were Jax and Jillie. There were the sweetest,
most gentle dogs you could possibly imagine.
Jax died about a year and a half ago, Jillie
passed away a few days ago, on Christmas
day. No matter what Saint Paul said, death
often carries a sting. When Jax died, we were
still able to carry on okay, but what do we
do now that Jillie has left us, too?
As I have written before, what good would be
a heaven without reunion with our pets.
Jax. Jillie. We shall continue to miss you so.
