ON RAISING CHILDREN (THOUGHT FIVE)
"Where children are, there is the golden age."
So wrote the German philosopher, Novalis.
In days gone by, there were rare times when
we felt "old," but, most of the time we felt
"young," especially when, in our arms, we
held one of our little ones.
Then we understood what it meant to feel
"eternally young."
What we have enjoyed about our children
is...that they accept and love us just as we
are, faults and all.
Would you be blessed this night?...
Give your children that extra tender word
of hope, of faith.
Kiss them one more time. Tell them over
and over that you love them.
Our pot of gold lies not at the end of some
end of some rainbow, but...within the hearts
of our children.
