ON RAISING CHILDREN (THOUGHT THREE)
Many a well-meaning parent perplexed today
over their teenagers who will not listen to or
abide by their parents' advice or admonitions.
Perhaps one reason for this dilemma is...
that we failed to adequately listen to our
children when they were younger and had
high ideals, wonderful dreams and carefree spirits.
Listen kind parents
And you shall hear
The pleading cries
Of your children dear.
Their pleas are simple
Their message plain
"Give us your attention
With love unfeigned."
"Put down the paper
Turn off the T.V.
Don't make a fuss
Just pause for a moment
And listen to us."
Listen to your children while they are young
and when you are older, they will listen to you.
