ONE MOMENT PLEASE
Wrote Emerson, "One moment of
a man's life is a fact so stupendous
as to take the lustre out of all fiction."
Indeed, the sum total of all our years
is constructed from our individual moments
of thinking, feeling, believing and acting,
doubting and knowing.
We have lived enough moments to learn...
That we cannot do everything and worrying
about it doesn't change or alter that fact.
That we can do some things and that it is
profitable to ourselves and to mankind to
continue in the direction of our abilities.
That contrary to the the belief of many cynics,
most people can change for the better over time.
That changes for the better, like changes for the
worst, usually do not occur instantaneously, but
evolve gradually over the years.
That there are few things, if any, of greater worth,
than close family ties.
Let us make our lives sublime...one moment at a time.
