SHORE LIGHTS
On our bookshelves at home sits
one of our all-time favorites, purchased
while we were still in high school during
the fifties.
It is a paper-back copy of short stories
written by a great religious writer of that
era, by the name of Fulton Oursler.
We enjoy, and even grow a little bit
spiritually taller every time we handle this
particular book. It has a dark blue cover
with a small picture of Mr. Oursler. And
even the title inspires us, "Lights along
the Shore."
As we read Mr. Oursler's stories, we seem
to hear a still small voice encouraging us
to gather in a goodly supply of oil. Trim our
wicks. Polish the glass. Glow brightly and
continuously. For, we sense the lighthouse
keeper soon cometh.
