THE GARBAGE DUMP
For many years, we saw"church" as
a place to go to fashionably exhibit our
outward sins.
As of late, however, we have viewed
"church" as..a garbage dump.
During the week, our minds and
emotions collect a tremendous amount
of garbage.
we have carried it around with us from week to week, placing an undue stress
on our already over stressed spiritual
shock absorbers.
Not only have we heaped smelly refuse
upon putrid debris...we have also weighed
down this whole mess with the litter of self-
guilt and self-pity.
Not anymore. Now each Sunday, we back
our truck right up to the foot of the Cross,
and rid ourselves of our burdensome load.
Amazingly, the next week, upon arriving
with a new load, we find that last week's
pile of garbage has been completely
washed away by the blood of the Lamb.
Should we venture to the garbage dump
often enough, we hope to be able to one
day exclaim, with humbleness and reverence,
"Hey man, there ain't no flies on me."
