THE NEW YEAR (1976)
How shall we go into the new year?
We shall go...
Giving and receiving expectantly.
We shall plant seeds of faith, of hope,
of love.
We shall plant and expect God to bless
our harvest...with baskets overflowing.
We shall go...
With a coal on our tongues, with tempers
restrained, so our brothers and sisters may
be uplifted by the words we utter and the
actions we take.
We shall go...
Carrying the message of Christmas in our hearts
throughout this whole new year.
As wise men, starry-eyed, bearing gifts of love
giving the best we have, in honor of our King.
We shall go...
Through the gates of tomorrow with our lanterns
well lit and our banners held high.
