TO LISTEN
One of our favorite authors, David Augsburger,
has written, The Golden Rule of Friendship is
to listen to others as you would have them listen
to you.
Too many of us, especially parents, talk too much
and listen too little. It also seems that we listen only
with our outer ears, while neglecting to listen with our
minds and hearts.
Would you have children, who would carry warm
memories of home and of their parents throughout
there lives? Then take time to listen to them while
they are young.
Blessed are those children who inherit parents
who listen intently, supportively, and enthusiastically
to what they have to say.
