                                          While speaking on the subject of rough
                                          roads, an unknown author wrote...

                                          "Be sure if God sends you on stony paths,
                                          He will provide you with strong shoes."

                                          And, we would like to add... "or He will
                                          toughen up our feet."

                                          When upon life's stoney path we walk,
                                          Or along the cobbled street
                                          Provide us with a pair of shoes
                                          Dear Lord, or toughen up our feet

                                          We cannot know what surface
                                          Lies ahead, what obstacles we'll meet
                                          So provide us with some well-soled shoes
                                          Dear Lord, or toughen up our feet.

                                          Someday we'll walk on streets
                                          Of gold, smooth surfaces replete
                                          But 'till that time arrives
                                          Dear Lord, please toughen up our feet.
